Austin Taft currently resides in Colorado Springs, CO. He has been a drummer for 28 years, having started from a natural interest in rhythm at an early age. A self-taught drummer, his drumming is influenced by Phil Collins, Tomas Haake, Manu Katche, Art Blakey, Tim Alexander, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Pat Mastelotto, among others. He currently uses Ludwig and Pearl Drums, Zildjian and Sabian cymbals, DW and Gibraltar pedals, Evans and Aquarian heads, and Vater sticks. In the creation of music, his musical philosophy is best summed up in the words of DJ Premier: "I make what I like to buy."

As a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, his latest full-length acoustic album, "The Human Condition", has been released by the independent label Triple Edge Records and joins his previous full-length electric release, "War of the Songs of Light Against the Songs of Darkness" and two additional releases to weave a consistent tapestry of eclectic and deeply challenging music. All studio recordings are entirely self-composed, self-produced and self-performed, and his music is currently available through Bandcamp, iTunes,, Google Play and other online retailers.

Austin's live band, The Austin Taft Soundtrack, is a rock outfit which performs a multitude of songs from the ever-expanding catalogue, specifically arranged for the live stage. This collective has built a strong reputation for reliably bold and unique performances, opening for such national acts as Days of the New, Powerman 5000, Rains, Tantric, Future Leaders of the World, Sponge, Trapt, (hed) p.e., Orgy, Taproot and My Darkest Days, among others. Many of the studio albums' tracks have become well-known staples of the live experience, including: "Adrenaline", "Light", "Monster", "Daydream", "Waterproof", and "Polaroid".
