Dylan Delehoy grew up in Parker, CO and currently lives in Wellington, CO. He has been playing the drums for about 12 years now. He says, "I always liked being loud and hitting things, so drumming seemed like the most natural instrument for me to pick up. My dad also played drums when he was in high school, and my parents helped me to get started when they bought me my first kit for Christmas when I was 12." When Dylan was younger he really admired a lot of classic rock drummers like John Bonham and Bill Ward. More recently he has been getting into more jazz, fusion, and funk drummers like Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Harvey Mason, and Matt Garstka. Right now, the drummer Dylan admires the most is Ryan Brown from Dweezil Zappa's band. Dylan says, "He has become my teacher/mentor and really helped me along the way to realizing my career as a musician." Dylan played in a heavy metal band in high school called Amnesia, but nothing recently. When we asked Dylan what his musical philosophy is, he said, "I believe music should be an important part of everybody's lives. It allows you to express yourself in a way that words can't. Through learning and exposing yourself to different types of music you can really grow as a person." Dylan curently plays a PDP kit with Evans heads, DW pedals, and a mix of Zildjian, Sabian, and Paiste cymbals. As far as sticks, he said that he usually gets the cheapest sticks he can find. Dylan is mostly self taught, and hopes to one day go back to school for percussion. If you want to find Dylan, here is his Facebook link, but, he says, "right now I don't do any kind of promotion." https://www.facebook.com/dylan.delehoy
